About Alexis Flaherty
My mission in life is not merely survive, but to thrive; and to do so with some passion, some compassion, some humor, and some style.” - Maya Angelou.
Growing up in a small town in North Carolina, everyone knew everyone and most days were routine. The homey feeling and tight knit community is what I love most. Being from a farming family we always had plenty of produce and canned goods to share with neighbors, friends and family. My family and I love to cook and bake, there was never a reason to get together we just would. The amount of cooking and socializing that happened in the kitchen was so intense – and this is where my love for baking began.
This is where I started practicing my own TV segments in the kitchen with my “Easy Bake Oven” – my audience full of Barbies and stuffed animals. I would come up with concoctions for my family to try, some good and some, well, not too much. My dishes became less savory and more sweet. Bringing life to my sugar addiction. I driven to learn how to bake. I would watch more Food Network shows – glaring hours at the TV being amazed as to how someone could do grandiose things with cake, sugar, and breads. Here I am today - A Johnson & Wales graduate!
I recently had my first child, she is amazing, beautiful, and quite entertaining! My family is important to me…considering they are my taste testers. Let me introduce you to delicious creations!
